ACADEMICS:
The HS Anchor Program
The Anchor Program serves as the foundation of The Harbor Academy’s curriculum, ensuring that all students receive a rigorous, well-rounded education that prepares them for success both academically and personally. To graduate, students must complete the comprehensive set of core academic disciplines, listed below, along with the number of course credits required for each to attain graduation. In addition, students complete a Harbor Capstone, which focuses on community service and leadership. This curriculum is designed not only to equip students with strong academic knowledge but also to develop essential life skills, critical thinking abilities, and global awareness. By integrating practical subjects like Financial Literacy and Logic alongside traditional coursework, students graduate with the tools to navigate real-world challenges, think independently, and make informed decisions. The Anchor Program ensures that every student leaves high school academically prepared, socially aware, and ready to thrive in whatever path they choose—whether it be college, career, or beyond.

High School Harbor Capstone
Throughout their time at The Harbor Academy, students will be encouraged to get involved in their local communities. One of the ways that we foster this involvement is by providing Harbor Mission Days, during which students are encouraged to find a local charity, non-profit, or other community service provider and volunteer. By participating during their 9th, 10th, and 11th grade years, students will have opportunities to identify their passions and interests in regards to service and their communities. In their 12th grade year, these Harbor Missions will culminate in their High School Harbor Capstone, which will require a continued stint of community service, as well as a written report and oral presentation on their experience and the impact that their service made on their community.
